There are at least five “visitor centers” in the park, but this would be considered the main one, the oldest, and administrative headquarters of the park. While warming up, we toured a nice little museum of park history, and also learned how to stay abreast of changing park road conditions – an increasing concern as the weather was forecast to worsen, and as we drove into higher elevations.
