CYW 294 Tivoli Restaurant and Saloon
Still standing today on the south side of West 16th Street (aka Lincoln Highway) between Carey and Pioneer Avenues is the Tivoli Restaurant and Saloon. Built in 1883 it welcomed ladies, both escorted and unescorted, a very uncommon practice in those days. Prostitution was legal in Wyoming until 1938 and the upper stories of the Tivoli are said to have been well known to many.
