CYW 268 Signs of Snow Ahead
Tuesday, October 1st, and it was time to say goodbye to Yellowstone. We checked out of the hotel, caught breakfast at The Outpost Restaurant in West Yellowstone and then hit the road. After a LOT of discussion, and despite Ken’s concerns about snow conditions at the nearly 10,000 ft. pass on the route, he agreed to Virginia’s request we make our way to Casper WY via the southern entrance of Yellowstone, through part of the Grand Tetons Park, out its eastern Moran entrance, then US-287/20/26 through the Wind River Reservation. We hadn’t even made it the 20 miles to Madison Junction before the first signs of snow appeared.
