CYW 003 Bison and Native Americans
On the east lawn of the capitol building is this bronze statue of a Native American hunter examining his prey, a bison. It is entitled "The Closing Era." The statue represents the end of the traditional lifestyle of Native Americans in Colorado. Surely this would become a recurring theme for the next 11 days.
